Another Major Investment for Laois Hire Group

Laois Hire Group, Ireland’s leading plant, tool hire and sales company, has recently made another major investment in mini excavators as part of the company’s growth strategy.

Laois Hire, headed up by Michael Killeen, is one of Ireland’s largest and most well-known hire companies. Established in 1992, now employing over 75 people in Ireland, the company has a remarkable back story and an even brighter future.  Laois Hire joined forces with the HSS Group in 2005 experiencing vast expansion under the leadership of Killeen who took over as Managing Director for the business operations in Ireland, Scotland and the Isle of Man.

The company has recently completed a major investment in mini excavators from ECI JCB to add to their commercial hire portfolio. The new range of mini excavators from leading Irish manufacture offers high performance excavation, operator safety and comfort.  Managing Director Michael Killeen says: “We have consistently invested heavily in our fleet, even during the recession years, in order to maintain a modern up to date fleet and to ensure our customers receive excellent service throughout Ireland”.

“We have made a substantial investment in our excavation division to meet the increased demands from our customers.  We have found JCB to be an excellent brand, trouble free, very popular with our customer base and backed up by an excellent service. We have also found that certain customers will request JCB equipment for certain projects.” states Killeen.

Customers are also benefitting from the new investment. Killeen informs us that, customers are responding well to the excellent quality of the new machines. “A trouble free machine means no customer down time and undue costs to contracts that need to be completed on tight schedules. We have noticed big demand all most immediately for these machines. They were just rolled out in our depot when they went straight out on hire!”

Regular investment is a vital ingredient in the plant hire market where customers are always looking for the latest technology and innovations.  And the investment for Laois Hire doesn’t end there. “We plan to make further substantial investments in a wide range of products this year,” says Killeen.
