According to the Irish Wind Energy Association, there are just under 400 Windfarms on the island of Ireland, with a wind energy capacity of 5510 MW. A report from a wind energy lobby group found that Wind provided 37 per cent of Ireland’s electricity in the first three quarter of 2019. Looking at these figures it is easy to see how vitally important the Renewables sector is in Ireland.
