Stock Controller / Transport Coordinator – Portlaoise

Job Purpose:

As a Stock Controller, you will ensure that all stock held within the depot is organised and logged correctly. You will ensure all stock records are accurate and stock losses and errors are minimised.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for preparing deliveries and collections of stock as well as accurately picking and transferring stock into despatch bays for Drivers collection. You will manage stock transfers between Laois Hire locations while updating the internal computerised system (Spanner) with stock transfers as required.

You will liaise with transport and operations to highlight and investigate stock and e-code discrepancies. You will take charge in ensuring stock is correctly logged within the warehouse as available, check or maintenance. You will also need to ensure that adequate and accurate stock levels are maintained at all times, in accordance with company targets.

While working closely with the transport manager and drivers, you will help plan and organise the routing of deliveries and collections to meet the required business and customer requirements.  In doing this, you will ensure the best level of service is provided to the business and our customers.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required:

The successful candidate will have strong communication and organisational skills, with Stock Control / Warehouse experience in a fast paced environment. They will have sufficient computer and numerical skills, including excel spreadsheets and ideally, have previous experience using a Stock Control computer system.
